Off to the Races
Thank you for the confidence and faith you have placed in me as your Senator from District 8; I hope I can count on you for continued support. Please entrust me with your vote once again and we can share the celebration of Victory on November 2, 2010.
Since 1992 when I was first elected to the Texas Senate, our community has seen growth and has faced our share of challenges. We've fought some important battles together to protect our families from sex offenders and drug dealers and we've made innovative changes to our state's education and transportation systems. Each of these initiatives started here at home through the collaboration of elected officials, community leaders, parents and citizens and their impact was felt statewide. Our community through hard work and a can do spirit has helped position Texas as a beacon state.
With just over 50 days to election day, my schedule is filled with exciting stops along the campaign trail and I hope to see you.
Mostly, I am excited about our "Conversations with Shapiro" events which are being organized across the district. These events are an opportunity for me to say hello to old friends, to meet new supporters and to hear first hand what the citizens of District 8 are concerned about. We'll announce the "conversations" schedule and other upcoming activities ongoing on our campaign blog. These are uncertain days for many, but I have a message of optimism to share with the citizens of Senate District 8. I look forward to seeing you soon and involving you in our exciting election efforts. Onward to Victory!
